Hello Dr. Shaffer,

It is amazing how quickly time passes. I just wanted to take a moment and sincerely thank you for everything you have done for me – but also my family. You have had a significant, positive, life long impact on me. I will work to maintain and continue to implement all of your insights into my values, goals and daily decisions. You have helped me become a better person, spouse and father.

I’m sure that you can probably see with better objectivity than I – the span of where I arrived at your door to where I am now. From darkness and rage to light and laughter. I really appreciate in my darkest days the strength and positive encouragement that you extended to me – even though I was interrupting your life at the time.

We never had a moment to discuss what or when our relationship would come to a close, or become less frequent -and how that should occur – but I wanted to let you know that as we stepped away, it wasn’t without a great deal of thought and reflection.

Thank you again for giving me a more balanced, positive, happy life.  I couldn’t be here, in this moment, without you and you will always be with me and not far from my thoughts.   I look forward to when our paths cross again in the future.  If there is anything I can ever do for you, do not hesitate to ask.
Your friend,
Marion

Dear Dr. Shaffer (Dr. Steve),

I wanted to take a minute to send you a thank you message. The time that Gene and I spent together at Cure Counseling made a world of difference for our marriage, as well as, our relationship with our children.

Our 16 years of marriage was at its end, when we met first met you almost two years ago. We couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel; you were our last attempt to make things work. To be truthful, I don’t really know that our hearts wanted to make anything work at first. It was more for show (to say that we made an attempt). But, through our late night counseling sessions (with you and Shaunda) our family was able to find the love and respect that we’d lost. We found the light.

We learned things about each other that we never knew. We learned how to communicate with each other, enjoy being alone together, and most of all trust each other. The time that we spent with you “IS PRICELESS”. The reassurance, respect, and understanding that you show and share are definitely life lessons that can be carried on for a lifetime.

I think of all of you at CURE Counseling quite often. I will never forget how my life changed when I met you. I wish you the best of luck in the future. Oh, and you can share this with your future clients if you want to.

Sincerely,
Kim Smith

P.S. Gene and I have our date night on Thursday now, maybe we will run into you and Sandy one night.

I came to Dr. Shaffer several years ago, approximately 5. Dr. Shaffer provided the care and concern that I needed at that time. He went out of his way to help me determine my root concerns, trained me with new tools and coping skills and worked hard to make sure what I learned stuck in my head. I am so thankful that I met him and am so glad that he uses several assessments. In the long run, I was able to get a good view of myself, work through my issues and find new ways to start having a more balanced life. John

Dr. Shaffer was very caring, listened and was action oriented. He help me determine my root issues and trained me to overcome my personal challenges.

We have known Dr. Shaffer for years and counseled with him many, many times and have always known him to be a man of integrity, helpful, full of wisdom, caring and above all else willing to do whatever it takes to help people. Without his help we would never be where we are today. Are only wish is that we could have found someone sooner who did not just provide talk, but provided tools. Thank you Dr. Shaffer!
